It depends on your type of career search. If you are pivoting your past experience to a new field, it’s a great idea to have all of your previous work packaged in a single place for potential employers and networking opportunities.

Not everyone will benefit from a personal brand in their job search. Recovering academics pivoting to editorial work are more likely to need a cohesive business card-resume-CV-portfolio set than someone building a career in manufacturing.

Think about the ways in which your career field does networking - do you need to stand out amidst a sea of business cards?

When you work with me, we will tailor a personal brand kit to your career field and relevant experience. Not everyone needs a custom logo, not everyone needs a business card.

You can expect a cohesive color palette and visual guides for job search materials, but I’ll also work with you to clarify existing copy (text) and the “voice” of your personal brand. These tools will guarantee a consistent and easy-to-absorb presentation of your deliverables.

While I work with job coaches, I do not offer career-seeking advice. Many clients come to me after working with a job coach.

My role is to package your well-thought deliverables and work experience into something beautiful that represents you. Good design means your audience receives (and remembers!) your content without any distractions.

Start by booking an initial call with me. You don’t want to hire someone you’ve never met!

We’ll go over your goals and needs in designing your career search materials, and I can make suggestions about add-ons or minimizing my design packages as necessary. Once you decide what you’d like to hire me for, you’ll submit 50% of the payment before I begin work. The other 50% is due after the final product is approved. Your digital products are delivered after the second payment.

I only work with one client at a time—not only to ensure the focus and attention you deserve, but also because I know my clients need a quick turnaround time. My smallest packages can be done within a couple of days, and my biggest website building/branding packages are ready to use within two weeks. (We prioritize together what you need done first — business cards delivered to you ASAP? A website to put on your linked in right away?)

I book frequently, with as little wait time as possible. I only work with one client at a time, so each person has my full attention as we build a visual identity that will represent them as effectively as possible.

Your custom website will be built on Squarespace.

Squarespace has the tools I need for customization and code, but a simple interface which will be easy for you to play with once I turn the website over to you. I’ll coach you on what you need to know to maintain your site, and you can easily book for me for an hour anytime after your included one-month support.

Hiring me means I’ll take care of the headache of domain registration and Squarespace setup for you. After the included term (either 3 months or 1 year), continuing costs for hosting* will be about $25 per month, or $280 per year (discounted for annual purchase). You can also choose to only pay for the domain* (your web address) for less than $20 per year and “park” your website.

*Hosting: Running your website, it being available for the public to find and navigate.

*Domain: Your web address (mine is riatova.com), think of owning this like a piece of virtual real estate.

Although I focus on individual websites with portfolios, I can set up a small business site with built-in options like e-commerce and e-mail marketing.
